The global vertical drama market is valued at over $8 billion, driven primarily by platforms like ReelShort, which generated $700 million in annual revenue selling English-language content to US audiences. Despite 68 million Latinos in the United States, a community raised on the telenovela tradition, no major vertical drama platform currently offers Spanish-language original content. Cuentalo is purpose-built to fill that gap.
The founding team combines entertainment and technology experience. CEO Carlo Sebastian Alcala, a former WME alumnus, later joined a boutique sports management firm as a manager, overseeing brand partnerships and orchestrating the Cristiano Ronaldo x Francis Ngannou x Jacob and Co. collaboration. He served as film producer on Amores de Peso and A&R'd projects with Grammy-winning creatives including Hassy, Pablo Aguirre, and Jackie's Boy.
